SENIOR COMMON ROOM, ST JOHN’S COLLEGE OXFORD WINS DESIGN PARTNERSHIP AWARD |

The extension to the Grade I listed Senior Common Room at St John’s College, Oxford, has been awarded the NAS Design Partnership Award for 2006.
MacCormac Jamieson Pritchard were the architects for the project, the main contractor was Kingerlee and the specialist shopfitting was carried out by A Edmonds & Co Ltd.
Brian Watson of Wills Watson + Associates, who chaired the Judging Panel, presented the Awards on 18th May at a gathering of over 100 designers, shopfitters and clients at Forbes House, Halkin Street, London SW1.
Runner up in the Award was H & R Johnson Tiles Ltd, London. Their new surfacing materials showroom, Material Lab, was designed by ‘i-am’ Associates and the shopfitting work was carried out by Railston the Shopfitter.
Highly Commended Awards went to Lloyds TSB Group Property Management for the design of their new branch in Victoria Street, London, where the shopfitting was carried out by Cathedral Contracts Ltd, and to museum specialist Ronayne:Design for their design of the new Sacred Silver & Stained Glass Gallery at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, on which the shopfitters were Beck Interiors Ltd.

The award is open to designers of projects in the UK for which the shopfitting has been carried out by a member of the National Association of Shopfitters.
