“Last Annual General Meeting of the Shopfitting Industry Group Training Association"
NAS Members should be advised that the last AGM of SIGTA will be held on the 15th May 2007. The venue will as always be Yew Lodge Ltd 33 Packington Hill Kegworth Derby DE74 2DF, the Hotel is situated within a mile of Junction 24 of the Ml Motorway; at which point the A6, the A42 (M) and the A50 converge.
As a mark of respect to the SIGTA Committee under the Chairmanship of Jim Coker, the NAS would strongly urge as many members to attend on the 15th May. These individuals have selflessly given of their time to ensure that the Shopfitting and Interior Contracting sector of the Construction Industry have benefited from training that is specific to our industry.
For those who attended last year, saw the inaugural presentation of the “Eileen Rabey” Award for a first year shopfitting apprentice. This award will again be presented on the day by Eileen and very generously supported by Jewson, and it is hoped that following last year’s success it will again be won by an NAS member. It should however be emphatically stated that this award in going forward will be supported by the new Shopfitting Independent Training Forum.
SIGTA has been a very important part of our industry and probably no other trade federation can boast of a training arm that has been so well supported by CITB ConstructionSkills. The NAS would therefore urge all members who have over the years taken advantage of the services that SIGTA have provided to attend and applaud the Committee for their selfless effort. Further details will be sent from NAS House in the next few weeks.
