 Headline SAKE NO HANA, LONDON SW1 WINS 2008 DESIGN PARTNERSHIP AWARD
 Detail Sake No Hana in London, a new Japanese concept in fine dining has been awarded the NAS Design Partnership Award for 2008. The project housed in the listed 1960s former headquarters of The Economist magazine in Piccadilly was inspired by Alison and Peter Smithson. The judging panel chaired by Richard Woolf of McDaniel Woolf Design Partnership were unanimous in their selection of Sake No Hana as the overall winner.
The judging panel went on to praise the use of authentic materials which clearly demonstrated an assured control of complex fabrication techniques. Sake No Hana is a worthy winner, setting a benchmark for the skills of designers and shopfitters for many years to come.
Denton Corker Marshall were the executive architects for the project, and the specialist fit-out was carried out by Goodman Hichens PLC.

Richard Woolf of McDaniel Woolf, who chaired the Judging Panel, presented the Awards on 15th May at a gathering of over 100 designers, shopfitters and clients at Two Temple Place, London WC2.

Joint Runners up in the Award were the 02 Sponsors Lounge at the 02 Arena, London, where HOK Sport were the architects with the shopfitting work carried out by Hadley Shopfitters and Watches of Switzerland, London, designed by RYA Design Consultancy with the shopfitting done by The Benbow Group.
