Advantages of using a NAS member
Service Provision
Full Service Provision from concept and feasibility through to detailed planning and setting out and fit out provision on site – the “Total Package”. This includes the management and control of all sub-trades whether domestic or client appointed.

Skills
In an industry founded on tradition and hand craft skills as well as cutting edge technology, NAS members are encouraged to train and are committed to training towards recognised National Vocational Qualifications.

The National Association of Shopfitters (NAS) is to introduce an “Accredited Skills Card” which will ensure that everyone in the sector can demonstrate the necessary level of competence, qualifications and health and safety awareness. The card will identify an individual’s occupational competency, from apprentice through to director level. It will only be issued to those who can demonstrate the prerequisite knowledge and a high level of health and safety awareness through the achievement of the existing ConstructionSkills Health & Safety Test.

This will be further supported and enhanced by other key accredited learning programmes that have been developed by the Shopfitting Independent Training Forum (SITF) in conjunction with ConstructionSkills, the Sector Skills Council for the construction industry.
Reliability
As well as training, NAS Shopfitters follow employment procedures that enable them to retain full control of their labour force, thus providing safeguards for consistency of standards and reliability of performance.

Quality
NAS introduced in 2006 PAS 82 Shopfitting Management Standard (BSI). In 2009 this will be reviewed to be re-introduced as an auditable protocol. NAS Members will for the first time be able to offer their clients a third party accredited certificate to the standard. This will for the first time provide clients with an audited checklist as to what they can expect from their chosen NAS Member.

Members of the National Association of Shopfitters (NAS) recognise that they are a people process industry and that quality is paramount at all stages of the process.

Awareness
Through NAS, Shopfitters are kept fully up to date of all changes in legislation, particularly those concerned with environmental, safety and risk management issues. Clients have the reassurance that products and services are designed with the safety of all involved in a shopfitting and interior contracting project.

Responsibility
NAS provides all shopfitting members with the necessary risk management advice and service that will enable them to assure clients that risk through the lifetime of a project is managed using best practice.
