NAS Centenary Year 1919 - 2019

Our Goal:

To mark our 100 years in style by helping charities and local communities and recognising young talent

2019 is a milestone and not only do we want to celebrate our rich and incredible past, but we want to make sure we are celebrating our future too with our family members, making a difference and nurturing the talent we have.

#NAS100 Charity Challenge – Target 100 companies to raise £100k in cash or in kind

Can you make a difference in your local community or for a charity that your team would be willing to support?

From 10th to 22nd June 2019 we are asking our Members to take part in our Charity Challenge by either raising some funds, volunteering some time or do something to help a good cause or community project.

All we ask is that you register, provide us with the details of what you are doing, who you are doing it for and when so we can get it all onto the website. Also BE LOUD AND PROUD about what you are doing, and involve your local media. Download the A-Z of fundraising ideas for some inspiration

And after you have done it all, send in some photos or short video with the results and again you’ll be on the website

#NAS100 Nationwide Apprentice Competition, recognising the best emerging talent in our industry.

The 2019 National Association of Shopfitters SKILLS EXCELLENCE EXPO will take place from 19th to 21st June 2019 and is open to all apprentices, of any age who have recently completed, or are nearing completion of their training in the craft of Bench joinery or its related activities.

The competition will challenge Apprentices from member organisations of the NAS as well as the British Woodworking Federation (BWF).

Taking place at Leeds College of Building, competitors will be sent a design brief prior to the competition and will be challenged to make the piece at the college on Thursday 20th June.

ENTRY to the Competition is open to candidates, including mature students, who as employees, have recently completed, or are nearing completion of either 2- or 3-year period of training in Bench joinery.

Early submission of Entry Forms would be greatly appreciated but entries must be received not later than 18th April 2019.

Successful candidates will be selected on a first received basis. Early application is strongly advised to avoid disappointment as spaces are limited to just 20.
