Many employers have already benefited from CITB funding. One project called “Robots for Roofing” saw Lacy Roofing in Liverpool receive a £15,000 investment to train five of its staff. The project is helping train roofers to use drones to the Civil Aviation Authority standards. The drones will be used to carry out routine jobs which would normally require them to climb e.g. carrying out surveys and finding faults. This training is the first of its kind and has the potential to reduce health and safety risks, while also capturing the imagination of young people who had not previously considered a construction career.
If this pilot is successful it could be rolled out across the construction industry.

Our new CITB Advisors are working with employers through Training Groups, Advisory Forums, Federations and other groups to help you develop the right skills for your business.
To give you additional face-to-face support we run Employer Advisory Forums in the spring and autumn of each year.
The nationwide forums take place at regional venues in England and Scotland and provide you with the opportunity to have your say on matters important to you. It is also a chance to debate the issues of the day and work with us to help shape solutions.
Early booking is essential as these events are very popular.
