The National Association of Shopfitters has been appointed to deliver the CITB Specialist Upskilling Project (SUP) — a programme designed to help members’ existing workforces access S/NVQ qualifications and overcome the barriers that have historically made upskilling in the shopfitting sector difficult to navigate.
The NAS will provide delivery and guidance support to help members and sector SMEs identify training needs, navigate qualification pathways, and increase participation in shopfitting-specific S/NVQs and related training — with a focus on the specialist trades at the heart of our sector.
Amanda Scott, NAS/IOC UK Skills and Competence Lead, said:
“This project will help our members pinpoint the skills they need and access high-quality, cost-effective training. The first step is the NAS Training Needs Analysis (TNA) 2026, launching in October 2026. Its findings will highlight priority areas, support more sector-specific S/NVQ achievements and help us tackle the skills gaps that matter most.”
What qualifications are available?
NAS support and guidance are already available for the following On-Site Assessment Training (OSAT) S/NVQs:
- S/NVQ L2 & L3 – Shopfitting Bench Joiner
- S/NVQ L2 & L3 – Shopfitting Site Fixer
- S/NVQ L2 & L3 – Site Carpenter
- CDUK – Solid Surface Fabricator Installer Qualification
What is the TNA 2026?
The Training Needs Analysis 2026 will give the NAS a clear picture of member and sector needs, building on intelligence we already hold to shape priorities for future upskilling routes and inform new qualification developments. Once it launches in October, the NAS team will connect with members both online and one to one.
Important to note
The SUP is for existing workforces, including employed trainees, and will run in its current form until 31st July 2027. Apprenticeships are not included in this programme — these are covered through separate streams, but the team are always on hand to guide you in the right direction.
