Below you will find the most commonly asked questions we receive about SICCS and CSCS Cards.

In order for us to be able to assist you with a SICCS Card enquiry, please email our Training Manager on firstname.lastname@example.org with the following details:
- Full name (including middle name)
- Date of birth
- National Insurance No.
- Home address
- Mobile no.
- Email address
- CSCS card registration (if applicable)
- Job title (with a small explanation of day to day practices)
The Shopfitting and Interior Contracting Competence Scheme card is a virtual card specifically for those in the Shopfitting & Interior Contracting/Fit Out industry. It is in partnership with CSCS (and displays their hologrammed logo). This digital card will appear on your smart phone (or the device of your choice).
It is not a legislative requirement. It is entirely up to the principal contractor or client to determine if workers are required to hold a card before they are allowed on site.
As soon as our Training Manager has undertaken the relevant checks/audits and receives evidence of the qualification(s) relevant to your choice of SICCS card, it is at this stage only that you can make payment via a Debit or Credit card, either:
- Over the phone with the National Association of Shopfitters Training Manager by calling 01883 624961.
- Online via NAS Buy.

The aim of the test is to examine knowledge across a wide range of topics to improve safety and productivity on site. It is usually taken via a PC-based touch screen test. If the person taking the test needs additional support e.g. accessibility or literacy please call the booking line on 0344 994 4488.
To apply for an SICCS card, you must have passed the appropriate version of the CITB Health Safety & Environment (HSE) test, within the last two years.
For the six SICCS cards we offer, you will need to take the ‘Operatives’ touchscreen test. Once you have passed this, please scan and email a copy (or text a photograph) of your PASS paperwork (1 x A4 sheet of paper) to NAS Training Manager: email@example.com / 07935 755460.

The SICCS card is a CSCS partner scheme and therefore should be accepted on all construction sites as per the Build UK Training Standard. You can identify which major contractors are signed up to follow the Training Standard via the yellow tick on the list of contractor members on the Build UK website.

CSCS is a not-for-profit limited company. Its directors are from employer organisations and unions that represent the breadth of the industry. Effective from January 2020, the CSCS application processing and contact centre is no longer delivered under contract by the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) as part of CITB Vision 2020 and is now delivered by an external agency.

This is a physical card to evidence that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do on site.
By ensuring the workforce are appropriately qualified, the card plays its part in improving standards and safety on UK construction sites.
It is not a legislative requirement. It is entirely up to the principal contractor or client whether workers are required to hold a card before they are allowed on site. However, most principal contractors and major house builders require construction workers on their sites to hold a valid card.
