New incentive schemes to boost apprenticeships

Employers in England can now claim the following payments after the government launched two new incentive schemes:

  • £3,000 for each new apprentice hired between 1 April and 30 September 2021, which can be claimed in addition to the existing £1,000 payment for hiring an apprentice aged 16 to 18 years old or under 25 with an education, health and care plan or who has been in the care of their local authority: read more.
  • £1,000 for each T Level student hosted on an industry placement of at least 45 days, up to a maximum of 20 students until July 2022: read more.
