World Class Manager Training

Ray Hodge, Senior Project Manager at NAS member company Triplar, recently completed the NAS funded World Class Manager training. Reflecting on his experience, Ray emphasised how the programme enhanced his leadership and personal growth. Here’s what he had to say:

“Participating in the World Class Managers programme has been an interesting journey. It’s one that has bettered my understanding of leadership and personal growth.”

Training for Personal Development

“A section of the programme emphasis on personal development and ongoing learning, it reaffirmed my belief that the pursuit of knowledge is a never-ending journey. I have learnt that to manage others effectively, I must first learn to manage myself. I have put focus on having a mindset geared towards continuous improvement and being open to new experiences and ideas.
Completing this section of the programme instilled in me the importance of self-reflection as a tool for personal development. By regularly assessing my strengths and weaknesses, I have been able to set targeted goals for improvement. The programme made clear to me that this process of self-evaluation is crucial for any leader who aims to inspire and drive their team forward. It is not just about acquiring new skills but also about deepening the understanding of the ones we already have and learning how to leverage them more effectively.
The World Class Manager programme has highlighted the significance of adaptability in a rapidly changing industry like ours. It has taught me that ongoing learning is not just about formal education; it’s about staying curious, asking questions, and maintaining a passion for discovery. The collaborative environment of the programme has also been pivotal in my learning. Engaging with a diverse group of peers, from very different areas of our industry has broadened my perspective, allowing me to appreciate different approaches to management and problem solving.
As I continue to advance in my career, the principles of the programme will remain a guiding force. It’s a reminder that becoming a world class manager is an ongoing journey, not a destination.”
