NAS wins a Trade Association Forum Best Practice Award

We are pleased to announce that the National Association of Shopfitters (NAS) won the Corporate Social Responsibility Award for our #NAS100CharityChallenge at the Trade Association Forum Best Practice Awards last night.

The awards, held at County Hall in London, recognise, reward and promote best practice amongst trade associations in the UK. The prestigious award ceremony, now in its seventeenth year, is eagerly anticipated by Trade Association Forum members as a chance to showcase their hard work and achievements during the last 12 to 18 months.

We entered our #NAS100CharityChallenge initiative for the Corporate Social Responsibility Award which we launched at the beginning of 2019 to celebrate our Centenary Year. The target being that the NAS and our members collectively raise £100k either in funds or gifts in-kind for any charity or organisation they wish, however the NAS’ chosen charity for the Centenary is CRASH – a unique, practical charity that assists homelessness and hospice charities with construction related projects.

A number of activities have already been completed by our members, including volunteering to decorate a local Scout Group, bake sales, a 100 mile walk, a skydive, an ultra two-day marathon, cooked to order breakfasts delivered to staff by the managing director, and even the young daughter of a member employee donating her hair to charity.

Several more activities are lined up for the rest of the year, and with more than five months left of the year, we urge anyone who still wants to participate to let us know of their intended activities! There’s still plenty of time to be in with a chance of winning an award at our Centenary Fundraiser on 24 October, with categories including stand out team, most novel way to help, most volunteer hours completed, most money raised and best video (any videos submitted will be entered into our competition to win a DJI Osmo Pocket).

In the lead up to Christmas and the season of goodwill, if there’s any activities you will already be involved in, such as donating to Children In Need in November or Christmas Jumper Day in December as examples, then do let us know as they can be factored into our overall total which will be announced early 2020.

Thanks again to all of our members who have participated so far, without you we would never have received the Trade Association Forum Best Practice Award!
